Six detained in Khatlon this year for public for call for forcible overthrow of Tajikistan’s present constitutional order

QURGHON TEPPA, September 26, Asia-Plus — Over the past eight months, the law enforcement agencies in Khatlon have instituted three criminal proceedings against six persons on charges of the public call for forcible overthrow of the present constitutional order in Tajikistan   (Article 307 of Tajikistan’s Criminal Panel), according to the Khatlon prosecutor’s office.

Ahad Qurboniyon, an aide to the Khatlon prosecutor, said that that investigations on all three criminal cases had been completed and the case materials had already moved to courts.

The prosecutor added that six criminal proceedings have been instituted against 13 alleged members of the outlawed religious extremist Hizb ut-Tahrir organization over the past two years.   Two of them are citizens of Uzbekistan, according to Qurboniyon.
