DUSHANBE, March 22, Asia-Plus – The Krasnoyarsk Territory Court on march 20 sentenced to life imprisonment a criminal for committing 14 murders.

“It was a repeat trial of the criminal case against Tajikistan native Abdufatto Zamanov, 34,” spokeswoman for the Krasnoyarsk Territory judicial department Natalia Mishanina told Itar-Tass.

Earlier, he was sentenced to 25 years for 14 murders, sexual violence and theft.  The Supreme Court granted the injured parties” appeals and the prosecutor”s presentation.

The earlier verdict was annulled due to violations of procedural law, and the case was sent for retrial.

It was ascertained that Zamanov murdered nine women and five men in suburban Krasnoyarsk in the period from June 2002 through November 2004, and also committed an attempted murder, thefts and robberies.
