DUSHANBE, July 22, 2013, Asia-Plus — Investigation in the murder of Karim Yuldoshev, State Adviser to President Emomali Rahmon for Foreign Affairs, which was committed twelve years ago is still under way.

We will recall that Karim Yuldoshev, 60, who had served as State Adviser to President Rahmon for Foreign Affairs since 1992, was shot dead in the stairwell of his Dushanbe home on July, 17, 2001.  His killers managed to escape.  Tajik authorities characterized the murder as a terrorist act.

In a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, Tajik Prosecutor-General, Sherkhon Salimzoda, noted on July 22 that all the high-profile murders will be solved sooner or later.

“110 murders that were committed during the 1992-1997 civil war have been solved over the past two and half years alone,” Tajik chief prosecutor said.

“I am sure we will solve any crime but it takes time,” Salimzoda noted.

According to him, 26 criminal proceedings for driving to suicide have been instituted in the country over the first six months of this year and 12 cases have already moved to courts.

“Over the report period, administration action has been imposed upon 336 persons for violation of a parental-responsibility law and 78 persons have been brought to justice for not allowing their children to attend school,” Salimzoda stressed.
