Police officers in Pyanj district of Tajikistan seized 8 kg of drugs

Two suspects were arrested.

During the operational-search activities in the Pyanj district of Tajikistan, police officers seized 8 kg of drugs, informs on December 4 the press center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan.

When the arrest took place is not stated.

In particular, two local residents, Gairat Zoidov and Rahmonali Mavlonov, were detained on suspicion of this crime.

In the first case, during a search of Zoidov's house, operatives seized 7 kg 231 grams of hashish.

In the second case, police officers found about 747 grams of methamphetamine in the trunk of a Mercedes-Benz car owned by Mavlonov.

It was found that the detainees were engaged in drug trafficking on a regular basis.

On this fact, a criminal case was initiated under article 200 part 4 (Illicit trafficking in drugs and psychotropic substances) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Tajikistan. This article provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to five years.
