DUSHANBE, April 30, 2011, Asia-Plus — On Friday April 29, Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi received Mr. Abdul-Aziz Harun, Ambassador of Malaysia to Tajikistan (with residence in Tashkent, Uzbekistan), according to the Tajik MFA information department.
In the course of the talks, the two discussed a broad range of issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Malaysia. The sides, in particular, noted that a two-way trade between the two countries was steadily increasing.
Tajik minister expressed satisfaction with the fact that the number of Tajik students studying at Malaysian universities and Tajik young diplomats taking training course in Malaysia was increasing from year to year.
On the same day, Kuwaiti Ambassador to Tajikistan (with residence in Islamabad, Pakistan), Mr. Nawaf Abdul Aziz Al-Enezi, presented his copy of credentials to Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi.
The sides discuss economic and trade cooperation between Tajikistan and Kuwait and attraction of investments for development of Tajikistan’s economy.
In the course of the talks, Zarifi offered to hold a meeting of a joint commission for economic and trade cooperation as soon as possible.
Tajik minister also pointed to the necessity of discussing the issues of exchange of diplomatic missions between the two friendly countries. Zarifi invited Kuwaiti Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, HE Sheikh (Dr.) Mohammed Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah, to pay visit to Tajikistan at any convenient time.
