According to Tajik Foreign Ministry, second day of Tajik-U.S. consultations, in the course of which cooperation in education and cultural exchange, human rights, Tajikistan’s joining to WTO, water resources and environment protection were discussed, ended on May 18 in Washington, D.C.
Tajikistan was represented by Tajik Foreign Minister Hamrokhon Zarifi, the American Delegation was headed by the Assistant Secretary of State Robert Blake.
Heads of delegations and experts shared their views on the aforementioned issues and talked about further cooperation between the two countries.
Ahead of the discussion on Tajikistan’s joining to WTO experts talked about technical and practical details of the issue.
The sides have managed to achieve a series of agreements and expressed willingness to continue discussions in the frameworks of the next regular meeting of the working group which is scheduled for July this year in Geneva.
That’s how the third round of Tajik-U.S. consultations ended, Tajik Foreign Ministry reports.
