Tajikistan’s cities host the Days of Culture of the Islamic Republic of Iran with the participation of 51 artists, IRNA says, citing an official with the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization.
Mohammad-Ali Kiani, Director-General of Cultural Cooperation and Iranian Expatriates’ Affairs of the Islamic Culture and Communication Organization told IRNA’s reporter in Tajikistan on October 30 that the Tajikistan hosts the cultural week of Iran from October 30 to November 6 in Dushanbe, Khujand, the capital of the northern Sughd province, and Bokhtar, he capital of the southern Khatlon province.
Kiani reportedly also noted that the big cultural and artistic event provides artists and cultural figures with the opportunity to present their artworks, which is based on a memorandum of understanding between the two countries to deepen cultural and artistic cooperation.
According to him, the Iranian cities of Tehran, Tabriz, and Shiraz held Tajikistan’s cultural week on October 1 to 8, when a delegation of authorities, cultural operators, and artists headed by the Tajik minister of culture participated in the event.
The Iranian cultural week is being held at the official invitation of Tajikistan’s Culture Minister Zulfiya Davlatzoda.
Poets, authors, musicians, and artists are going to display Iran’s culture and art in the three cities in Tajikistan.
Week of Iran’s movies will be held in Tajikistan on the sidelines of the Days of Iran’s Culture in Tajikistan.
Some 24 calligraphic artworks of Master Ahmad Teymouri are being presented in the cultural week programs.
Days of Iran’s Culture kicked off in Dushanbe yesterday at a ceremony, which was attended by ministers of culture of Iran and Tajikistan
Iran’s Ambassador to Dushanbe Mohammad Taqi Saberi as well as a number of other Dushanbe-based ambassadors and a large number of Iranian nationals residing in Tajikistan were also present at the ceremony, according to IRNA.
Iranian Minister of Culture Mohammad Mehdi Esmaeili arrived in Dushanbe on Sunday.
