Tajik deputy foreign minister, Slovak deputy minister of economy discuss cooperation

On Monday February 28, Tajik Deputy Foreign Minister Sharaf Sheralizoda met in Bratislava with Deputy Minister of Economy of Slovakia Peter Svec on the margins of the Business Forum of Entrepreneurs of Tajikistan and Slovakia.

Tajik MFA information department says the parties discussed issues related to further expansion of trade and economic cooperation between Tajikistan and Slovakia and expressed their readiness to support cooperation between entrepreneurs of both countries.

During the meeting, Sheralizoda also briefed Slovak official on the investment opportunities of Tajikistan in various areas, especially water and energy, agriculture and tourism.

Diplomatic relations between the Republic of Tajikistan and the Slovak Republic were established on February 4, 1993.

Tajikistan supports further development and strengthening relations with the Slovak Republic in political, trade and economy, cultural and other fields.

The countries hold annual bilateral consultations, which serve as an important mechanism for strengthening and further development of relations.

Based on the governmental program, Slovakia provides Tajik citizens with scholarships in various fields of economy and social life.

Legal foundation of bilateral relations consists of government-to-government and inter-agency cooperation documents.
