Khatlon governor dissolves local government’s press service

QURGHON TEPPA, July 6, Asia-Plus — The Khatlon government’s press service has been dissolved and a new information-analytical department has been set up on the basis of it, Amirsho Miraliyev, chairman of the Khatlon province, announced at news conference in Qurghon Teppa on July 5.  

The Khatlon governor said that five specialists were working with the newly established information-analytical department.  He also expressed hope that media would be reliable partners to local authorities in creating civil society.  

Speaking to journalists, Miraliyev also said that he had signed a resolution obligating local officials to provide access to socially important information.  

Besides, the governor said that he had ordered his office to study the charter of the “Nasimi Vakhsh” public radio station and provide assistance in registration of it.
