Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament to consider law on president’s symbols today

DUSHANBE, July 20, Asia-Plus — Tajikistan’s Law “On Symbols of the President of Tajikistan” has been submitted for consideration to the sixth session of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) of the third convocation, which is opening in Dushanbe today.

As it had been reported earlier, deputies of the Majlisi Namoyandagon (Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament) unanimously endorsed a bill on symbols of the president of Tajikistan on June 30.  The symbols include president’s standard and insignia.  The president’s standard is a tricolor flag 1m x 2m (colors of Tajikistan’s national flag) featuring the image of lion with seven star around it, and the president’s insignia looks like the 1-Grade “Star of the President” Order.

The source says members of the Majlisi Milli are also considering the RT Laws “On Social Partnership and Collective Treaties”, “On Inspection of Activity of Economic Entities in Tajikistan” as well as laws on making amendments to the country’s Tax and land Codes, etc.
