Tajikistan
’s President Emomali Rahmonov today is leaving for
Moscow
to attend the seventh CIS informal summit that will be held on July 21-22.
According to information from presidential press service, the informal CIS summit in
Moscow
is aiming to discuss the CIS reform informally ahead of the regular summit in autumn, as well as international issues.
According to some media, Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev, who currently presides over the CIS, prepared a program document on the CIS reform for the
Moscow
summit.
Almost all CIS presidents have confirmed their participation in the informal summit in
Moscow
.
Emomali Rahmonov who believes that “it is too early “to decommission” the CIS” is scheduled to hold a series of bilateral meetings with a number of his CIS counterparts, including Russian President Vladimir Putin, on the sidelines of the informal summit in Moscow.
Rahmonov and Putin are supposed to discuss issues related to economic cooperation between
Tajikistan
and the
Russian Federation
. Participation of
Russia
in implementation of energy projects in
Tajikistan
is expected to be in the center of discussion.
