President’s standard to be handed over to Rahmonov at inauguration ceremony

DUSHANBE, November 14, Asia-Plus – On Saturday November 18, sub-divisions of the Dushanbe military garrison will be on parade at the Dusti Square in Dushanbe to mark an inauguration of a newly elected president, according to the Ministry of Defense (MoD).

A source at a MoD said that the parade will be preceded by an oath of loyalty to the president.

Tajikistan’s lower chamber of parliament (Majlisi Namoyandagon) endorsed a bill requiring an oath of loyalty to the president at its regular sitting on October 11 and the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament) will consider and second it on November 15.

Emomali Rahmonov will be inaugurated as the newly elected president at Dacha in Dushanbe.  President Rahmonov will take up office swear and oath at the fourth joint meeting of the two chambers of the parliament, and Zarif Aliyev, Chairman of Tajikistan’s Constitutional Court, will hand over Presidential Standard to him.
