President’s son-in-law removed from the NBT Board

By president’s decree issued on December 13, 2022, former Frist Deputy Chair of the National Bank of Tajikistan (NBT) Jamoliddin Nouraliyev is removed from the NBT Board.

By president’s decree, posted on the Justice Ministry’s website for legal information, Ms. Firouza Sharifzoda and Mr. Alijon Salimzoda are confirmed as new members of the NBT Board.

Recall, Jamoliddin Nouraliyev was relieved of his post of First Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of Tajikistan in early June this year “in connection with transfer to another job”.

However, there have been no report about his appointment to another position to date.

Jamoliddin Nouraliyev had served as first deputy chair of Tajikistan’s financial regulators since 2015.

Eurasianet reported on December 6 that Tajikistan’s banking sector for many years has been operated under rules devised by Jamoliddin Nouraliyev.

Jamoliddin Nouraliyev (born October 10, 1977) is a graduate of the University of Maryland’s MBA program.  He is married to the daughter of President Emomali Rahmon, Ozoda Rahmon, who has headed President’s Executive Office since 2016.
