DUSHANBE, November 25, 2011, Asia-Plus — Captain Dmitry Matushkin, an assistant to the commander of the Russian base in Tajikistan, noted that military exercises were conducted in three garrisons of the base on November 25.
The exercises, comprising units from the garrisons, included simulated combat operation against terrorists aiming to wreck the holding of the forthcoming elections as well as attempting to commit terrorist acts and taking hostages.
In all, more than 150 military personnel along with some 20 armored vehicles were involved in the exercises, the assistant said.
