Some 67 kilos of narcotics seized in a special operation in Sughd

DUSHANBE, July 16, 2013, Asia-Plus – Resident of the Kuhistoni Mastchoh district, Boymirzo Boyev, has been detained in the Shahriston district on suspicion of having been involved in drug trafficking.

When searching his truck KAMAZ, officers from the State Committee for National Security (SCNS)’s office for Sughd found 20 kilograms of heroin, a source at the SCNS said.

“The preliminary investigation has established that the seized heroin belongs to resident of the Kuhistoni Mastchoh district, Hoji Tursunboy Homitov,” said the source.  “During the interrogation, Homitov said that resident of Khujand, Mustaqim Sanginov, asked him on July 10 to transport 37 kilograms of hashish to Russia.”

Mustaqim Sanginov has been arrested and more than 36 kilograms of hashish have been found in his home.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the detained drug peddlers and an investigation is under way.
