KONIBODOM, July 6, 2011, Asia-Plus — 750 residents of Konibodom, Sughd province have reportedly applied to local appropriate agencies for jobs since the beginning of the year. 598 of them have been registered as unemployed and 325 of them have later been placed in jobs.
“As of July 1, 2011, more than 1,000 residents of Konibodom were officially registered as unemployed” Anvar Mahkamov, head of the Konibodom department for social security, employment and migration, told Asia-Plus in an interview.
According to him, of a total number of those employed, 113 have been placed in jobs in agrarian sector, 71 people have been placed in jobs in health sector, 36 others have been placed in jobs in industrial sector and the remainder has been placed in jobs in others sectors of economy.
“Since the beginning of this year, some 2,000 new jobs, including 1,200 temporary works, 654 regular works and 135 seasonal works, have been created in Konibodom,” said Mahkamov, “Besides, 125 unemployed have been sent to vocational training courses and 44 unemployed have been involved in public works.”
