Tajikistan lagging behind Central Asia’s nations in terms of an average monthly salary

Over the first quarter of this year, Tajikistan has been lagging behind Central Asia’s countries in terms of an average monthly salary.

According to statistical data from Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), a permanent regulatory body of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), average monthly salaries in January-March this year were equal to 627.00 U.S. dollars in Kazakhstan (285,433 tenges), and 234.00 U.S. dollars in Kyrgyzstan (20,943 soms).

According to data from Uzbekistan’s State Committee for Statistics, an average monthly salary the country in the first quarter this year was 3,426,000 sums (equivalent to 305.00 U.S. dollars)

According to data posted on KtoGdeSkolko.com’s website in May this year, current average monthly wage in Turkmenistan is 1,100-1,200 Turkmen manats (equivalent to 315-320 US dollars).

In January-March this year, an average monthly salary in Tajikistan was 1,747 somonis (equivalent to 155.00 U.S. dollars)

Over the same three-month period, nominal monthly salaries have risen 23.7 percent in Kazakhstan, 19.1 percent in Uzbekistan and 11.4 percent in Kyrgyzstan. 

In Tajikistan, the nominal monthly wage has reportedly risen 13.7 percent in January-March this year.
