Minimum monthly salary rises 50 percent in Tajikistan

A minimum monthly salary has risen 50 percent Tajikistan, reaching 600.00 somonis.

By president’s decree on measures aimed at strengthening the level of population's social security and increasing the minimum wage, public sector wage, pensions and allowances [scholarships] signed of January 13 this year, the minimum monthly salary for all economic and social spheres of Tajikistan is set at 600.00 somonis from July 1, 2022 (50-percent increase).

As it had been reported earlier, by president’ decree signed on June 6, 2016, the minimum monthly wage in Tajikistan rose 60 percent and was set at 400.00 somonis from July 1, 2016.  

Besides, by president’s decree of January 13, 2022 wages of employees of federally funded institutions (public servants, employees of education and research institutions (with the exception of employees of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences and its subordinate institutions), culture, sports, public health, social protection and others) are raised by 20 percent from July 1, 2022. 

By president’s decree the basic salary for health workers is set at 366.00 somonis from July 1, 2022.   

Besides, the rates of allowances for orphaned children and survivor benefits to minors are raised by 25% of the minimum old-age pension.

The allowances [scholarships] for students (with the exception of cadets of higher military institutions and the Academy of the Interior Ministry of Tajikistan) are raised by 20 percent from July 1, 2022.
