TASS says that according to data from FinExpertiza (a network of professional audit, valuation and consulting firms), 3.12 million labor migrants have entered the Russian Federation over the second quarter (April-June) this year, which is one third more than in the same period last year and “record quarterly value for at least the last six years.”
“Over the second quarter of this year, 4.16 million foreign nationals have got on the migration register with registration at the place of stay, with 75 percent (3.12 million) of them being registered as labor migrants. “This is a record high quarterly value for the entire period of statistics available since 2017,” FinExpertiza’s report says.
The number of labor migrants in the second “sanction” quarter of this year reportedly turned out to be a third more than in the same period last year (2.34 million labor migrants reportedly entered the Russian Federation in April-June last year).
Over the first quarter (January-March) this year, 2.76 million labor migrants have entered Russia.
FinExpertiza’s report says only 330,000 labor migrants entered Russia in the second quarter of 2020, which was five times fewer than in the same period of 2019.
Over the second quarter of this year, 49.6 percent of labor migrants, who entered Russia in the second quarter of this year are residents of Uzbekistan. 30.5 percent of labor migrants who entered Russia in the second quarter of this year are nationals of Tajikistan.
