Two dozen citizens of Uzbekistan have received summons from military recruitment office in Oryol oblast, calling them to join the so-called “special military operation” in Ukraine, Oryoltimes reported on October 26.
Director of the waste processing plant EkoSiti (EcoCity) Yuri Parakhin was cited as saying on October 26 that 50 employees of the plant, with half of them being nationals of Uzbekistan, have received summons from the military registration and enlistment office in the framework of the mobilization announced in the Russian Federation last month.
“Most of the men of our enterprise received summons from the military recruitment office yesterday, despite the fact that documents for reservation of a number of highly qualified specialists were submitted documents for reservation back in September. Moreover, summons were sent to citizens of friendly nations as well. For participation in the special military operation these people face imprisonment in their own country,” Parakhin said.
It is to be noted that it is not the first time that summons from military recruitment offices have been handed to foreigners in Russia.
Media reports say that after the “partial” mobilization was announced in Russia last month, hundreds of Tajik nationals living in various cities of Russia have received summons from military recruitment offices.
