DUSHANBE, October 30, 2008, Asia-Plus  — During the October 29 government session, it was noted that nine investment projects for a total amount of 1.73 billion somoni have been implemented in the transportation and road-building spheres, presidential press service said.

Reporting on the work carried out to this date, the transportation and road project management units noted that they have drawn 1.1 billion somoni by October 1.  3,100 people are currently involved in implementation of these projects aimed at rehabilitation of the roads Kulob-Darvoz, Dushanbe-Khujand-Chanak, construction of the Anzob and Shahriston tunnels, etc.

Speaking at the meeting, the president charged the ministry of transport and communications and the project management units to speed up work on disbursement of the provided investments and pay a special attention to the quality of work.  He also charged them to give quarterly reports on the work done.
