Prices for gasoline and diesel fuel in Dushanbe remain highest fuel prices throughout Tajikistan.

In January this year fuel prices raised on average by 10 dirhams, Tajik Ministry of Economic Development and Trade has quoted WFP as saying.

In early January price for gasoline of AI-92 type made 6.80 Somoni ($1.5) per liter, but in late January it reached 6.90 Somoni. Prices for diesel fuel remain at the same level of 6.60 Somoni per liter.

Khujand has the lowest prices for gasoline and diesel fuel, which range from 5.70 to 5.80 Somoni ($1.2) per one liter of gasoline and 5.60 Somoni per liter of diesel fuel.

In Kurgon-Teppa prices for gasoline of AI-92 type in January this year made 6.40 Somoni per liter, while prices for diesel fuel made 6.30 Somoni.

In Khorog, eastern part of Tajikistan, gasoline prices in early January were registered at a level of 6.60 Somoni, but in late January they reached 6.80 Somoni, while prices for diesel fuel remained at the same level of 7 Somoni.

In Garm gasoline is sold at 6.75 Somoni per liter, diesel fuel at 6.80 Somoni.

According to Tajik Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, fuel prices will remain at the same level within the next month. This forecast was confirmed by Tajik Ministry of Energy and Industry. Recently signed Tajik-Russian agreement on removal of export fees for oil products for Tajikistan will let reduce prices for gasoline and other oil products imported from Russia maximum by 10%.
