DUSHANBE, October 13, 2008, Asia-Plus — Defense Minister, Colonel-General Sherali Khairulloyev, today morning left for St. Petersburg, Russia to attend the 55th session of the council of the CIS defense ministers that will be held there on October 15, according to the Ministry of Defense (MoD).
The source at a Mod said that the CIS defense ministers’ session is aiming to consider some 20 issues related to military and military-technical cooperation between the CIS states, including the results of work carried out by the council in 2008 and the plan of actions for development of the military integration for 2009.
A special attention is expected to be paid to improvement of the CIS unified air-defense system, the source said.
