DUSHANBE, October 4, 2008, Asia-Plus  — Today, Tajik cellular operator Babilon-Mobile, which accounts for more than 40 percent of mobile telecommunications services in Tajikistan, greeted its 900,000th client, the Babilon-Mobile PR-manager Irina Vorobyova said in an interview with Asia-Plus.   

The resident of Sughd’s Ayni district Habibjon Hotamov has become the 900,00th client of Babilon-Mobile.  The company donated a car VAZ-2110 and 900,000 minutes to its 900,000th client.   

We will recall that Babilon-Mobile greeted its 800,000th client on June 28.  Babilon-Mobile greeted its 700,000th client in February this year.    

Commercially launched on January 1, 2003, Babilon-Mobile is licensed to provide cellular communication services in GSM 900/1800 and 3G-UMTS standards.  

According to the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), eleven mobile providers now function in Tajikistan: MLT; Babilon-Mobile; Indigo-Tajikistan; Indigo-Somoncom; M-Teco; Beeline; Telecom Inc (SkyTel); TK-Mobile; and ATK Telecom Technology.
