DUSHANBE, July 29, 2013, Asia-Plus — In a report released at a news conference in Dushanbe, Fattoh Saidov, Head of the Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption noted on July 29 that former chief of the Interior Ministry’s office in Panjakent (Sughd province), Colonel Khairiddin Aliyev, was arrested on July 28 on suspicion of having been involved in corruption.
“Aliyev has been caught red-handed while taking a bribe of 4,000 U.S. dollars,” Fattoh Saidov said, noting that Aliyev was relieved of his post of chief of the Interior Ministry’s office in Panjakent in early July.
The anticorruption agency chief refrained from giving further details of the case.
