KHUJAND, October 8, 2013, Asia-Plus — A renovated school located in the Khurramzamin jamoat, in the Spitamen district, Sughd province officially reopened today, according to the Sughd governor’s press center.

The main building of School # 20 to accommodate 120 pupils was constructed in the Khurramzamin jamoat in 1968.  Later, construction of additional classes started but it was suspended in 1991.

Construction of eight additional classes has reportedly been resumed following an application by local residents to the Sughd authorities.

The Sughd regional administration has allocated 1.3 million somoni and eight additional classes have been built.

Speaking at the school-reopening ceremony, Sughd governor Qohir Rasoulzoda noted that 44 educational facilities have been constructed in the province this year.
