DUSHANBE, October 9, 2013, Asia-Plus — President Emomali Rahmon, who is currently on his working visit to the Gorno Badakhshan Autonomous Region (GBAO), today attended a ceremony of an official opening of a new frontier post near the village of Porshnev in the Shugnan district, according to the Tajik president’s official website.

Over the past four months, four frontier posts have reportedly been built in the city of Khorog and the Shugnan district.  All these facilities meet international standards.

Speaking at the ceremony of opening of the frontier post in Porshnev, the president ordered relevant agencies to build four other frontier posts on the Tajik-Afghan border next year.  Three of the will be built in Gorno Badakhshan.

While in the administrative center of the Shugnan district, the president attended the ceremonies of opening of new buildings of the district prosecutor’ office, district military registration and enlistment office as well as offices of the Interior Ministry and the State Committee for National Security (SCNS) in the district, the president’s website said.
