DUSHANBE, October 17, 2013, Asia-Plus – Over the first nine months of this year, Tajikistan has produced a total of more than 6.691 billion somoni (equivalent to more than 1.2 billion U.S. dollars) worth of industrial goods, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.
Compared to the same period of 2012 the index of the volume of production of industrial goods amounted to nearly 104.1 percent.
Processing industry has reportedly accounted for 66.3 percent of the overall volume of industrial goods produced in January-September, enterprises producing and distributing electrical power, natural gas and water have accounted for 21.4 percent and mining industry has accounted for 12.3 percent.
Over the report period, Tajikistan has produced more than 280,000 tons of coal, 71,000 tons of brown coal, more than 21,000 tons of oil and some 3.2 million cubic meters of natural gas.
Of the 90 basic types of industrial products the output of 50 items (55.6 percent) has increased, and the output of 27 items (30 percent) has decreased over the same nine-month period. Thirteen basic types of industrial products (14.4 percent) have not been manufactured.
