Tajik parliamentary speaker, Russian ambassador discuss cooperation issues

DUSHANBE, October 17, 2013, Asia-Plus — Chairman of the Majlisi Milli (Tajikistan’s upper chamber of parliament), Mahmadsaid Ubaidulloyev met here today with Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan, Igor Lyakin-Frolov.

Shavkat Saidov, an aide to the Majlisi Milli speaker, says the sides discussed state and prospects of further expansion of inter-parliamentary cooperation between Tajikistan and the Russian Federation and issues related to attraction of Russian investments for development of Tajikistan’s economy.

“Ubaidulloyev appreciate d Russia’s support for training of Tajik specialists and touched upon the issue of increasing the number of Russian-language schools in Tajikistan and organizing Russian language training courses,” Saidov said.

According to him, Ubaidulloyev and Lyakin-Frolov also discussed problems of legal protection of Tajik labor migrants in Russia and holding of Days of Tajik Culture in Russia and Days of Russian Culture in Tajikistan.
