DUSHANNBE, October 28, 2013, Asia-Plus – During President Rahmon’s visit to Farkhor, a small three-or-four-year-old girl, who was among those who came Sunday morning to welcome the president, said that she is chilled.
President Rahmon heard her cry. He took the girl in his arms and said, “Let me warm you.”
The girl, for her part, asked the president, who is he and where he came from?
Rahmon said that he came from Dushanbe and promised to take her with him to the capital. The president ordered officials, who were accompanying him, not to involve small children in such events any more.
All Tajik national television channels showed this episode.
According to broadcastings covering Rahmon’s trips to the regions, local authorities have been making serious preparations for meeting the president in recent years. Special events, involving old people, youth and children, have been organized.
In October last year, the sleet began to fall during an official ceremony of opening of the Shahriston Tunnel in the northern Sughd province while schoolgirls who came to welcome President Emomali Rahmon were in flimsy dress.
