DUSHANBE, October 28, 2013, Asia-Plus — Tajik President Emomali Rahmon has been awarded the Order of Commonwealth 1st Degree, which is the highest award of the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, according to Tajikistan’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI) press center.
Rahmon was reportedly warded the order for multisided activity to strengthen mutually beneficial relations between the Eurasian nations and weighty contribution to development of integration and cooperation in the post-Soviet area.
Established on February 21, 1992, the International Congress of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (ICIE) is an international public organization. The main objective of the organization is in developing international business cooperation.
At present ICIE membership comprises the national unions of industrialists and entrepreneurs from 27 European and Asian countries. More than 100 enterprises, organizations, firms and other structures from various branches of the economy and different countries are partners of the Congress.
The main activities of the ICIE include consulting and legal support of its members, development and implementation of research, industrial, investment programs and projects. The International Congress also renders support in establishing and developing enterprises of various forms of ownership, in their adaptation to market economy conditions, in expanding international links with the aim of strengthening economic and industrial potential of the regions, where the enterprises function.
