DUSHANBE, November 1, 2013, Asia-Plus — Sozandagoni Vatan (Homeland Builders), which is the youth organization of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP), plans to conduct a republican action, dubbed “My President,” on November 2 to support Emomali Rahmon’s candidacy.

Sozandagoni Vatan leader Adham Mirsaidov says the action will start at 8:00 am and more than 100,000 young people are expected to take to the streets in cities and districts across the country to support the incumbent president’s candidacy.

“Young people carrying the national flags and portraits of President Emomali Rahmon will march along the central streets of all cities and districts of the country,” Adham Mirsaidov told Asia-Plus in an interview.

In Dushanbe, the “My President” action will take place at the Navrouzgoh complex on November 3, he added.

The PDP created the Sozandagoni Vatan organization in 2011 and its founding conference took place on July 27, 2011.  The conference elected Adham Mirsaidov, formerly head of the PDP organizing department, chairman of the Sozandagoni Vatan organization.  The organization was registered with the Ministry of Justice in November 2011.

To-date, some 25,000 young people have joined the organization.  Besides, some 60,000 young people who are members of the PDP have automatically become members of Sozandagoni Vatan.

The main objective of the organization is in fostering a spirit of patriotism, devotion to ideas of national self-consciousness and independence of the country in the young generation.
