DUSHANBE, November 7, 2013, Asia-Plus — Over the first nine months of this year, Tajikistan has imported 45,449 vehicles, which was more than 10,000 vehicles more than in the same period last year, according to the Agency for Statistics under the President of Tajikistan.

A total amount of auto imports in January-September this year was 551.5 million U.S. dollars.  The United Arab Emirates (UAE), Russia, China, and the Baltic nations (Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania) provide the bulk of Tajikistan’s car imports.

Meanwhile, Chinese news agency Xinhua, reports that China’s auto exports have decreased this year.

Over the first three quarters of this year, China has reportedly exported 1,502 vehicles to Tajikistan, which was 15.9 percent less than in the same period last year.

Over the same nine-month period, China’s auto exports to Turkmenistan and Russia decreased by 19.8 and 56.5 percent respectively.
