KHOROG, August 25, 2008, Asia-Plus — Construction of rural health centers is progressing in all districts of Gorno Badakhshan.
According to Shodi Jamshedov, head of the GBAO health directorate, more than 30 rural health centers are supposed to be built in remote areas before the end of this year.
“Construction of 22 health centers will be funded by local authorities, four other centers are being built within the framework of the national health development program under financial support of the World Bank and five others are being constructed under support of the Aga Khan Foundation’s Mountain Societies Development Support Program (MSDSP),” Jamshedov.
In all, some one million somonis have been allocated for construction of the rural health centers in Gorno Badakhshan.
