DUSHANBE, April 24, 2014, Asia-Plus – Tajikistan has reportedly launched its own online social network service – Persona.tj.
Persona.tj reminds the world’s largest social network Facebook.
Persona.tj administrator Timour Khojayev says Person.tj has been created as alternative to Facebook because Tajikistan does not have its own social network.
“We have chosen Facebook’s design because it is recognizable and convenient for users,” Persona.tj administrator said.
According to him, Russian online social network service VKontakte (In Touch) has also successfully used the design and functions of Facebook. “As a matter of fact, VKontakte (VK) is Facebook analog, which has additional functions such as “Announcements, Events, Blogs and Forum,” Khojayev noted.
VKontakte is the second largest social network service in Europe after Facebook. It is available in several languages, but particularly popular among Russian-speaking users around the world. Like other social networks, Vkontakte allows users to message contacts publicly or privately, create groups, public pages and events, share and tag images, audio and video, and play browser-based games.
“Frequently, local websites are more convenient than the global ones, especially for commercial organizations,” Khojayev said.
It is to be noted that Persoan.tj is not the first social network service launched in Tajikistan. Several social network services such as
www.socialnet.tj
, parta.tj, all.tj, tajbook.tj were launched in the country last year. However, no one of them commands popularity from Tajik users.
