DUSHANBE, May 8, 2014, Asia-Plus – On Wednesday May 7, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon met here with India’s Foreign Secretary, Ms. Sujatha Singh.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, the two discussed state and prospects of further expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between Tajikistan and India.

The sides reportedly also discussed cooperation documents that had been signed between Tajikistan in political, economical, cultural and educational spheres.

Tajik president and Indian foreign secretary also exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues being of mutual interest.

Ms. Sujatha Singh noted that India is ready to participate in investment energy and infrastructure development projects in Tajikistan in the future as well, Tajik president’s website said.  

Ms. Sujatha Singh is an Indian career diplomat who is currently India”s Foreign Secretary.  She assumed office on August 1, 2013.  Prior to her appointment she was the Indian Ambassador to Germany (2012-2013).
