DUSHANBE, May 8, 2014, Asia-Plus — Tajik Resident Emomali Rahmon today morning departed for Moscow for participation in an informal meeting of the presidents of Armenia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan.
According to the Tajik president’s official website, Erkinkhon Rahmatullozoda, Aide to the President for Foreign Policy Affairs, and some other Tajik state officials are accompanying Rahmon on his visit to Moscow.
While in Moscow, President Rahmon is expected to hold bilateral meetings with some of state leaders participating in the meeting, the website said.
Meanwhile, the Kremlin says Ukraine’s crisis and “collective security” will be the focus of today’s talks in Moscow.
According to Russian media sources, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said the visiting presidents would have an informal meeting together with Putin, but also would each meet separately with the Russian president to discuss “bilateral relations.”
He said they also plan to attend what the Kremlin is describing as a training exercise for Russian military forces.
