DUSHANBE, May 27, 2014, Asia-Plus — Latvian President Andris Bērziņš is expected to arrive in Tajikistan on June 9 for a two-day official visit.
A reliable source in the Tajik government says a large group of representatives of the Latvian business community will accompany Bērziņš on his official visit to Tajikistan.
While in Dushanbe, Mr. Andris Bērziņš will meet with his Tajik counterpart Emomali Rahmon to discuss state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between their countries.
They will also exchange views on a number of regional and international issues being of mutual interest, the source said.
The sides are expected to sign a number of bilateral cooperation documents and a conference of representatives of the business communities of Tajikistan and Latvia will be held in Dushanbe on the sidelines of the visit.
Mr. Andris Bērziņš (born 10 December 1944) is a Latvian businessman and politician who has been President of Latvia since 2011. Andris Bērziņš was the President of Unibanka from 1993 to 2004. He was elected as President by the Saeima (the parliament of the Republic of Latvia) on June 2, 20111.
