An armed incident took place on the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border.


Kyrgyz boder troops reported to “Rossiyskaya Gazeta” that the borders troops stumbled over approximately 25 unidentified civilians around Orto-Yntymak Kadamzhay village, in Batken province, while patrolling the border.


It is established that the aforementioned illegally crossed the Kyrgyz border, and were trying to smuggle goods from Kyrgyzstan to Uzbekistan.


The message says: “When the patrolling border guards ordered them to stop, they did not obey and showd resistance and started throwing stones at the border guards. The patrol was forced to shoot warning shots into the air, to which they did not respond. As a result, the border troops were forced to open fire and one of the border violators is wounded.”


According to the source, the border guards provided first medical aid to the wounded, but he died on the way to the hospital.


Other border violators fled into the Uzbek territory.
