Eight members of a criminal group, which supplied drugs into the Russian Federation, are detained.

As reported by the press center of the Drug Control Agency, 38-year old Istaravshan resident was detained on suspicion of drug trafficking through intra-cavitary means while boarding the Khojand-Krasnoyarsk flight in Khojand International Airport. The Agency says, “Drug courier-swallower was immediately taken to hospital, where 100 capsules of heroin with a total weight of 470 grams, was extracted.”

As a result of further search operations and investigative actions, seven more members of the group have been detained. Of these, four are Soghd residents, two Dushanbe residents, and one Khatlan resident. 705 grams of heroin was confiscated in the house of one of the detained persons. As a result of a search in the house of one the group members in Istaravshan district 3 kilograms and 476 grams of heroin were found. The total weight of the herion is 5 kilograms.
