DUSHANBE, October 3, 2014, Asia-Plus — A winter readiness meeting, presided over by Prime Minister Qohir Rasoulzoda, has been held at the Dushanbe-2 combined heat and power (CHP) plant.

Subhiddin Muhiddinov, a senior consultant to the president’s press center, says the meeting discussed issues related to adequate preparations for autumn-winter 2014-2015 plant and ensuring the regular work of the country’s economy during autumn-winter 2014-2015.

A special attention was reportedly given to preparedness the Dushanbe-2 CHP plant for the upcoming cold weather.

The prime minister demanded at the meeting that the work on stockpiling 250,000 tons of coal for the Dushanbe-2 CHP plant should be speeded up, Muhiddinov said.

We will recall that second 50 MW unit of the first line the Dushanbe-2 CHP was introduced into operation on September 13.  The first 50 MW unit of the first line of the Dusahnbe-2 CHP plant was introduced into operation in January this year.

The second line of the plant is expected to be introduced into operation in two years.

A total cost of the project is reportedly 30 million USD and it is being implemented due to a loan provided the Export-Import Bank of China.

This coal-powered plant is being built in the Luchob area of the Tajik capital and construction of the coal-powered plant is reportedly in compliance with Tajikistan’s environmental regulations.
