DUSHANBE, September 23, 2014, Asia-Plus — The Staff of the Anti-drug Operation, dubbed Kuknor 2014 (Poppy 2014), has held a number of meetings in the southern Khatlon province.
In a meeting that took place in the Qubodiyon district, senior representatives from local authorities of the districts of Jilikul, Qubodiyon, Shahritous, and Nosir Khusrav participated, according to the Drug Control Agency (DCA) press center.
Members of the meeting that took place in the city of Norak included senior representatives from the districts of Yovon Jomi and Khuroson, and deputy chairpersons of the districts of Panj, Qumsangir and Rumi participated in a meeting that was held in the Qumsangir district.
The meetings reportedly focused on issues related to coordination of activities of law enforcement authorities on carrying out the antidrug operation in the province.
The anti-drug operation, dubbed Kuknor 2014 (Poppy 2014), is going on in Tajikistan.
This year, the anti-drug operation was launched in early May and it will run through November.
This annual operation, involving representatives of law enforcement agencies, local authorities, ministries of agriculture and health, as well as the committee for TV and radio-broadcasting, is dedicated to detect and destroy drug crops across the country.
