DUSHANBE, December 21, 2014, Asia-Plus — On Saturday December 20, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon introduced a number of staff changes to the Ministry of Interior (MoI).

The Tajik president’s official website reports Colonel Khurshed Mahmadshozoda was appointed Commander of the Internal Troops.

The Internal Troops are the internal security force of Tajikistan, under the Interior Ministry.  They act as the reserve of the Military of Tajikistan, and are in charge of homeland defense, along with the Tajik Border Troops.

Besides, Colonel Nozim Mahmadov was appointed to head the Interior Ministry Fire Fighting Department.
