DUSHANBE, February 3, 2015, Asia-Plus — Tajik Minister of Agriculture Qosim Rohbar yesterday received a delegation of China’s National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), led by the NDRC deputy head, Mr. Wang Xiaotao.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture (MoA) press center, prospects for bilateral agrarian cooperation between Tajikistan and China were a major topic of the meeting.
Tajik minister reportedly expressed satisfaction with the current level of cooperation between the two countries, noting that China was one of strategic partners of Tajikistan.
Rohbar, in particular, hailed cooperation between Tajikistan and China in producing agricultural machines, processing farm produce, farming seeds and training personnel for Tajikistan’s agrarian sector.
Rohbar and Wang also paid a special attention to further expansion of bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the fields of rice growing, bee keeping, fish breeding and animal husbandry, the source said.
The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of the Government of the People”s Republic of China, formerly State Planning Commission and State Development Planning Commission, is a macroeconomic management agency under the Chinese State Council, which has broad administrative and planning control over the Chinese economy. The NDRC”s functions are to study and formulate policies for economic and social development, maintain the balance of economic development, and to guide restructuring of China”s economic system.
