DUSHANBE, February 23, 2015, Asia-Plus — A ceremonial meeting dedicated to the 22nd anniversary of formation of Tajikistan’s Armed Forces took place at the Kokhi Vahdat State Complex in Dushanbe on February 22 and President Rahmon delivered a statement at the meeting, according to the Tajik president’s official website.
In his address, Emomali Rahmon reportedly congratulated Tajik military on their professional holiday and noted that more than 15,000 officers have been trained since Tajikistan attained independence and Tajik Armed Forces were formed.
Some 2,000 other Tajik cadets are studying various military disciplines at military schools in Tajikistan and outside the country, the president stressed.
Rahmon noted that a new military town would be put into commission in the near future and more than 1,200 families of servicemen would give house-warming parties.
The head of state also set new tasks on strengthening the country’s defense capacity and distinguished servicemen were awarded.
