DUSHANBE, April 3, 2015, Asia-Plus — Issues related to state and prospects of further expansion of bilateral cooperation between Tajikistan and Russia were a major topic of a meeting of Tajik President Emomali Rahmon with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov that took place here yesterday.

According to the Tajik president’s official website, President Rahmon noted during the meeting that expansion of strategic partnership with the Russian Federation was one of long-term priorities of Tajikistan’s foreign policy.

Rahmon and Lavrov reportedly discussed political, military and technical, socioeconomic and humanitarian cooperation between their countries.

They also exchanged views on bilateral cooperation in providing regional security, protecting legal right of Tajik labor migrants working in Russia, and attracting Russian investments in Tajikistan’s economy.
