Tajik central bank distributes commemorative coins

DUSHANBE, April 30, 2015, Asia-Plus — The National Bank of Tajikistan has distributed commemorative coins.

According to Tajik central bank, the new 500-somoni pure silver coins have been distributed on the occasion of the 600th anniversary of Tajik-Persian poet and scholar Abdurrahman Jami, the 700th anniversary of Persian poet and prominent Muslim scholar Mir Syed Ali bin Shahab-ud-Din Hamadani, and the 20th anniversary of Tajikistan’s Constitution.

An official source at the NBT says the coins have been minted for numismatics purposes.  

The coins have reportedly been minted at the Mayer Mint GmbH in Germany.
