DUSHANBE, May 22, 2015, Asia-Plus – The head of the tax inspectorate in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district, reportedly faces charge of bribe taking.

The Agency for State Financial Control and Combating Corruption says criminal proceeding have been instituted against the head of the tax inspectorate in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district and the lead specialist of the inspectorate’s team providing services to small entrepreneurs.

According to the anticorruption agency’s official website, the preliminary investigation has established that they were deliberately delaying issuance of documents on termination of entrepreneurial activity of citizen “A” for the purpose of taking bribe from him.

On May 4, citizen “A” was reportedly forced to purchase furniture for 1,500 U.S. dollars fro the country cottage of the head of the tax inspectorate in Dushanbe’s Firdavsi district.

Criminal proceedings have been instituted against them under the provisions of Article 314 (4) of Tajikistan’s Penal Code – acceptance of a bribe; an investigation is under way.
