As informed by the Moldovan mass media, the Tajik opposition politician, deputy chairman of Congress of Constructive Forces of Tajikistan, Sobir Valiev, has been seized in the international airport of Moldovan capital Kishinev.


According to the news issue of NewsMaker, a 27 year old Valiev was seized further to the request of the Tajik authorities due to the accusations in “extremism”.


The law enforcement bodies of Moldova are waiting for the documents from Dushanbe for extradition. The lawyer of the politician things that Valiev cannot be extradited since what is being regarded as extremism in Tajikistan “Is seen as freedom of speech in our end here”.


It was noted that the deputy chairman of Congress of Constructive Forces of Tajikistan, Sobir Valiev, was seized in Kishinev airport on 11 August by the border police further to the request from the Tajik authorities. The 27 years old politician is allegedly being accused of extremism activities in Dushanbe which is the reason of him being put on the wanted list.


The press services of Moldovan border police confirmed seizing “the citizen of Kirgizstan”. It is stressed out that from 2008 Sobir Valiev is the citizen of Kirgizstan and that is also when he gave up his Tajik citizenship.
