DUSHANBE, September 11, 2015, Asia-Plus – The Delegation of European Union to Tajikistan says the Latvian Business Women Association in cooperation with the National Association of Business Women of Tajikistan (NABWT) organized workshops on “Positive Motivation” for women from rural areas.

The aim of the workshops was to motivate women starting businesses and to develop a new NABWT service for women in business.

Two workshops were organized in Istaravshan and Ghonchi with in total over 40 participants. The facilitator, Zhanna Kulakova, motivated the participants to engage in business and inspired women to cooperate and create networks of businesses.  IMON International specialists were capacitated on-the-job to carry on the workshop format as facilitators of a future service of NABWT called “Women Empowerment Club”.  The first “Women Empowerment Club” was organized with the participation of 25 NABWT members, including Business incubator start uppers, mentors and Ambassadors of Entrepreneurship in Khujand. Zhanna Kulakova was a speaker of the Club and delivered a master class on Positive Motivation.  The new NABWT service will be offered on a regular basis with involvement of prominent and successful business people to motivate women to be economically active and establish business links.

The workshops are part of the project “Tajik Women Economic Empowerment (TWEET)”, funded by the European Union under the Central Asia Invest Program.  The project aims at improving the business climate for the establishment and operation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSME) run by women in Tajikistan.  The overall budget of the project is 428.000 EUR of which 364.225 EUR are provided by the European Union.
